DIR-3 KYC eligibility checker
Check whether your DIN needs KYC under the new triennial rule, which form applies and the exact due date.
Enter the date your DIN was allotted and when you last filed KYC to see whether filing is due under the new triennial rule.
How this is computed
- •DIR-3 KYC is now required once in three years (not every year) under the MCA's abridged KYC framework notified from 31 March 2026.
- •Every person holding a DIN as on 31 March of a financial year must ensure KYC is filed at least once in the preceding three financial years by 30 September of that year.
- •The DIR-3 KYC web service can be used only if KYC was filed in an earlier year and none of your particulars (name, address, personal email, mobile) have changed; otherwise the full eForm with attachments and professional certification is required.
- •Missing the due date deactivates the DIN and reactivation costs a ₹5,000 late fee per DIN, during which the director cannot sign any ROC form.
- •Your personal mobile number and email are OTP-verified during filing, so shared or office IDs are rejected.

Is DIR-3 KYC filed every year or once every three years?
Once every three years. The MCA amended Rule 12A to replace annual KYC with an abridged KYC filing once in three years, effective from the financial year 2025-26 onwards.
When is the first DIR-3 KYC due for a newly allotted DIN?
If the DIN was allotted after 31 March, the first KYC is due by 30 September of the following year, for the financial year in which the DIN was allotted.
What happens if the DIN is already deactivated?
You must file Form DIR-3 KYC with a ₹5,000 late fee to reactivate it. The web service is not available for a deactivated DIN, and the form needs a DSC plus certification by a practising CA, CS or CMA.
